In 2017 France’s bid to host the World Championship was accepted in Invercargill, New Zealand. Then folllowed the first ever French record for two shearers,with 1328 sheep sheared during 9 hours of labour. In 2019 the village of Le Dorat in the Haute Vienne (Department 87) will welcome the World Sheep Shearing and Woolhandling Championship for the first time to France.
